Stopping smoking is so absurdly easy that I wonder why folks keep saying that they have trouble with it. Simply find something else to keep your mind busy and off of the stick, and you’d find that several days have gone by and you didn’t even think of it. Seriously, if you try hard you will see how easy this is. A lot of folks smoke when they are worried. If you are one of them, you could look for other outlets for your frustrations instead so that you don’t turn to the cigarette. You might be surprised to find that you feel the urge less and less when there’s something else to occupy your mind when you are worried. More so, just being worried is counterproductive. Try as much as you can to avoid being worried all the time.
Too many Americans seem to have trouble quitting the cigarette, which I find hard to understand. Much in the same way as you make yourself quit biting on your nails because you have become of age, you can simply tell yourself that you cannot smoke anymore because it’s killing you. Yes, you read that right – it’s no longer news that smoking is a silent killer. Smoking is not some person you can just kick out of the door; you need a strategy, especially one that is proven to work. Some doctors advice that you quit gradually, finding alternatives as you go along. Others say that you need to do it suddenly and totally. I think you have to find a comfortable spot in there somewhere. But please do not compromise; you should STOP smoking, no matter how hard it seems.
I don’t think a doctor is the best person to help you with stopping smoking, seeing as so many of them know the hazards but they smoke also. I think the best way to quit is to find a person who has succeeded at it before. Their own stories might inspire your. Stopping smoking for you might require that you join a group of friends and take therapy together. I didn’t think there was much potency to it until I saw it happen before my very eyes. Some dudes just got together and made themselves stop smoking. Well, it’s been three years since, and they are still going strong. So, this technique might work for you, if you but try it.
If your life is on the line, you would have no trouble stopping the nicotine. If you think you cannot ever quit, just wait until you get that doctor’s report telling you your next drag might be your last. I have seen more than a few people stop smoking at that life turning moment – when the doctor painted them the gloomy picture. Having someone that you care a lot about might help you stop smoking. In truth, I know that a lot of people do it in defiance of their parents or some other such figure in their lives. However when they find someone that they don’t want to be selfish with, they could do it for them. Every time you feel like smoking, think about the person that you are hurting, and you will learn to leave the bad habit well alone.
